Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a family with a strong musical background. The majority of her childhood was spent listening to traditional music, old boleros, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana enjoys tangos and the dramatic and opera performances. Ana began learning to play the piano and sing in the early years together with her mom. She received more formal singing instruction when she was 16 years old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. Music lessons continued throughout the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Then, she enrolled in the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was a member of many chamber and opera choirs. In 2000 she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer with classical Latin American music at private occasions. The love she has for singing, music and the arts keeps her involved in local activities in both her capacity as an artist and teacher. Ana has been a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana hopes that by sharing her knowledge her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly among the younger generation to keep this tradition in the present.
